About Cucumber for Jira

Cucumber for Jira makes Gherkin specifications accessible inside Jira and in sync with your code repository.
If you are a BDD enthusiast, you’ll be writing executable specifications and automated tests that read like documentation. This documentation is always up to date, because tests are executed by the Continuous Integration (CI) server. Rather than locking away your Gherkin feature files in your Git repository, Cucumber for Jira enables you to share this documentation with your entire team through Jira. Cucumber for Jira integrates with GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket (Cloud version).

Prerequisite

You need Jira administrator permissions to install Cucumber for Jira app.

Installation

In Jira Settings, go to the Apps tab:

Go to the Find new apps tab and search for Cucumber for Jira. Cucumber for Jira app will appear in the search results then you can click on it:

Click on Try it for free at the top right to install it and confirm by clicking on Start trial:

That’s it! Cucumber for Jira is now installed.

By default, Cucumber for Jira is not activated in your Jira project, so you should first activate it in the project settings.

Activate Cucumber for Jira on your Jira project

Just after installing Cucumber for Jira on your Jira Cloud instance, go to your Jira project in Project settings. Select Cucumber for Jira and activate Enable Cucumber for Jira.

As soon as Cucumber for Jira is enabled, a new menu entry, Living Documentation, appears on the left side of the Jira project page:

The Cucumber panel can be displayed as a feature issue.

AND WE ARE DONE :)
